Summer has finally come to Europe and opened the active season with some solid weather. To celebrate it I went for a short hike to a small town of Tegernsee, less than an hour away from Munich.
The hike itself was not that long. I went to the top of the Wallberg, a 1722m high mountain right next to the lake Tegernsee (named conveniently as the town itself, or maybe other way around).
Being so close to the lake I expected nice views and they didn’t disappoint. Just an hour into the hike I’ve exited the forest and started to see all Alps all around.
Quickly enough I got to the place where cable car stops, bringing those who don’t want to break a sweat and get a lunch with a view. Not an alternative to me, though.
I carried on to the top of the mountain which was just a short 30 minute hike from there. In the end, I think I’ve spent more time at the top enjoying amazing view than actually hiking up and down the mountain. And it was very much worth it.
